Preparation

  • Place the sliced strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle them with sugar. Gently toss and let them sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes to macerate.
  • In a separate bowl, pour in the heavy cream. Whip the cream until it thickens, then add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue whipping until soft peaks form.
  • Crumble the shortcake biscuits or make your own. Ensure they are tender.

Layering

  • Begin layering in serving jars: start with crumbled shortcake, followed by a layer of macerated strawberries, and a dollop of whipped cream. Repeat until jars are filled, finishing with whipped cream.
