Ingredients
  

For the Beef Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20) Juicy and flavorful choice for burgers.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Adds aromatic flavor.

For the Tacos

  • 8 small corn tortillas Essential for wrapping the fillings.

For the Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Provides creamy texture.
  • 1 cup sliced pickles Adds tangy crunch.

For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Base for the sauce.
  • 2 tbsp ketchup Adds sweetness and tang.
  • 1 tbsp mustard Adds zest to the flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Stir until creamy and well-blended. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

Cooking the Patties

  • Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, adding a little cooking oil or butter if desired.
  • Place each portion in the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes without disturbing it.
  • Use a spatula to smash each portion down to about 1/2 inch thick. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until browned before flipping and cooking for another minute on the opposite side.

Warm the Tortillas

  • Quickly warm the corn tortillas in another skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.

Assemble the Tacos

  • On each warm tortilla, place a smash burger patty, and layer with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and pickles.
  • Drizzle the prepared sauce over the assembled tacos.
  • Finish with a sprinkling of fresh cilantro.

Serve

  • Serve immediately while warm and fresh for optimal enjoyment.
