Ingredients
  

For the stir-fry

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain Juicy and flavorful, the star of this dish.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Adds nutrition and vibrant color.
  • 1 cup bell pepper, sliced A mix of colors for sweetness.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Elevates the dish with its flavor.
  • 1 inch piece ginger, grated Provides a warm essence.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Crucial for marinating the beef.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional) Adds richness and sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Helps to tenderize the beef.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Ideal for high-heat cooking.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Adds a nutty aroma.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Balances the saltiness.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Essential seasonings.
  • Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving Perfect for soaking up the sauce.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Marinate the beef in a mixing bowl with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Allow to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  • Chop and prepare all vegetables before starting to cook.

Cooking

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  • Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
  • In the same wok, add minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds.
  • Add broccoli and sliced bell peppers to the wok, stirring for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  • Return the beef to the wok and add remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), honey, and sesame oil.
  • Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve hot over jasmine rice or noodles.

Notes

Serve with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for garnish. Make ahead by marinating beef in advance for optimum flavor.
