  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the overall flavor.

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks Melts beautifully in the oven.
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce Adds luscious, buttery flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and fold together carefully.
  • Fold in the chocolate chunks and half of the salted caramel sauce.
  • Divide the batter among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  • Drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce on top of each muffin and sprinkle with sea salt flakes.

Baking

  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow cooling for 5 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate chunks for a richer flavor. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
