Ingredients
  

Steak and Vegetables

  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced Choose the cut that offers a tender, juicy experience

  • 2 pieces bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced For a delightful crunch and color
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced Providing earthiness and depth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For that classic aromatic kick

Base and Cheese Sauce

  • 2 cups cooked white rice or cauliflower rice Use cauliflower for a lower-carb option
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce (optional) For a fresh crunch
  • 4 slices provolone cheese Melts wonderfully, offering gooey goodness
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened For a creamy cheese sauce
  • ¼ cup heavy cream To enrich the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce A hint of umami that ties it all together

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by slicing your steak thinly against the grain, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat a skillet on medium-high and melt the butter, then sauté the onions until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Add bell peppers and mushrooms, cooking for an additional 5-6 minutes before adding minced garlic and cooking for one more minute. Remove vegetables from skillet.

Cooking

  • Increase heat to high, add olive oil, and sear steak slices for 2-3 minutes without stirring, then stir and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fully cooked.
  • Combine sautéed vegetables back into the skillet with the steak.
  • In a separate saucepan on low heat, combine cream cheese and heavy cream, stirring until melted and smooth. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and provolone slices.

Assembly

  • Layer cooked rice or cauliflower rice in bowls, add the steak and vegetable mixture, then drizzle creamy cheese sauce on top. Optionally, add shredded lettuce and extra provolone.

Notes

Serve with crusty bread for dipping into cheese sauce, or top with jalapeños for a spicy kick.
