Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar; sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  • Once the mixture is bubbly, add in the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until combined.
  • Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft, elastic dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Rolling and Filling

  • After the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air. Roll it out into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Spread the diced peaches evenly over the dough, and sprinkle generously with cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log, ensuring the filling stays inside. Cut the log into 12 equal slices.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover them, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
