  • 1 cup Nutella This iconic hazelnut spread adds a rich, creamy flavor.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Contributes sweetness and a smooth consistency.
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Offers a depth of chocolate flavor.
  • 0.5 cup chopped hazelnuts Optional for added crunch and nutty goodness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds warmth and complexity.
  • 1 pinch salt Balances the sweetness.

Preparation

  • Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the Nutella and sweetened condensed milk. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  • Gradually add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring until melted and glossy.
  • Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. If using, fold in chopped hazelnuts.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top. Let it cool for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
  • Once set, lift the fudge out using the parchment paper and cut into squares.

Notes

Keep heat low while melting to avoid chocolate seizing. Consider adding sea salt or instant coffee for flavor enhancements. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or freeze individual pieces for later.
