  • 1 cup sour cream Adds tangy richness.

Toppings

  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling For a sweet and tart flavor.
  • 1 tub (8 ounces) Cool Whip Creates lightness throughout the dessert.
  • 1 tablespoon toasted almond slivers Adds crunch and nuttiness.

Preparation

  • Bake the angel food cake according to the package instructions. Once baked, set it aside to cool completely before cutting it into bite-sized cubes.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding, milk, and sour cream until smooth and creamy.

Layering

  • In a 9x13 baking dish, layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom.
  • Top the cake cubes with two-thirds of the cherry pie filling.
  • Add the remaining cake cubes on top of the cherries.
  • Pour the pudding mixture evenly over the cake cubes.
  • Spread the Cool Whip on top and garnish with the leftover cherry filling and toasted almond slivers.

Chilling

  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours before serving.

Notes
