Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, then drain any excess grease.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned beef with the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbling.
  • Sprinkle the French fried onions on top and bake for an additional 5–10 minutes until golden.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using lean ground turkey or chicken, low-fat soup, and add more vegetables. Be mindful of common mistakes like not browning the beef properly or overbaking the dish.
