Preparation

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Drain excess fat if necessary.

Sauté Aromatics

  • Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet.
  • Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.

Cook Brussels Sprouts

  • Add the halved Brussels sprouts and the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until sprouts are tender and slightly crispy.

Season and Finish

  • Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • If desired, add red pepper flakes.
  • Stir in the soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce and cook for additional 2 to 3 minutes.

Notes

For extra texture, consider caramelizing the Brussels sprouts for 2-3 more minutes. For a creamier finish, stir in a splash of cream or a dollop of sour cream before serving. This dish can also be prepared using ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
