Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and black pepper.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden-brown.
  • Transfer the seared chicken to the prepared baking dish.
  • Spoon marinara sauce over each piece of chicken, letting it pool around the edges.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan evenly over the chicken.
  • Add a pinch of Italian seasoning over the cheese.

Baking and Serving

  • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.
  • Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
