Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or placing a wire rack on it.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil until they are evenly coated.
  • In another bowl, whisk together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, chili powder, cayenne pepper (if using), oregano, and brown sugar.
  • Sprinkle the dry rub mixture over the wings and toss them until evenly coated.
  • Place the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Bake the wings in the oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking.
  • Let the wings rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crispy wings, consider broiling them for the last few minutes of baking. You can also experiment with the spice levels and marinate the wings in the dry rub for a few hours for extra flavor.
